Position
Summary:
Under
the direct supervision, performs voice and/or
data cable installation duties.
Responsibilities:
Perform all cable pulling and installation
processes.
- Terminate, label and test a
variety of different manufactures
connectivity hardware. (ie: jacks, patch
panels, 110 blocks, 66 blocks, RG6, RG11,
Splitters)
- Construction of communication
closets. (i.e.: equipment racks, ladder
rack, trough, shelving, cabinets).
- Installation of cable pathway
development, raceway and attachments.
- Perform fiber optic cable
terminations and testing.
Minimum
Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 to
5 years’ experience with the proper pulling
techniques for all category cable, coaxial
cable, fiber optic cable and high pair count
copper backbone cabling.
- Ability to fully interpret and
work from project drawings.
- Familiar with a variety of AV
cabling terminations, (RGB, VGA, RCA),
Security cabling techniques, (door frames,
cameras), Security cabling terminations,
(BNC, wire terminals).
- Strong understanding of proper
attachment hardware, mounting procedures and
raceway construction. (i.e.: Panduit,
Wiremold).
- Solid understanding of cabling
standards (ANSI/TIA/EIA 568B, BICSI, NEC,
IEEE, NFPA).
- Valid driver’s license and
insurance.
- Ability to successfully pass a
background check and drug screen.
- Ability to work flexible
hours, i.e., weekends or late afternoons and
evenings.
- Cannot be colorblind.
- Must be able to provide your
own basic working toolkit.
- Must be able to routinely lift
and carry up to 50 lbs.
Minimum
Education Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and 2 to
5 years’ experience with the proper pulling
techniques for all category cable, coaxial
cable, fiber optic cable and high pair count
copper backbone cabling.
- 7 years’ directly related
experience can be substituted for a High
School diploma.
